If you missed the gifts given for Day 5, you can still access these resources:

On the fifth day of IEW’s Twelve Days of Christmas Giving, the gifts specifically benefit teaching parents as well as classroom teachers in traditional schools, hybrid schools, and co-ops. The first gift is a PDF of the Student Resource Packet (SRP), which is filled with useful information for students doing any writing assignment. It includes charts, structure models, style samples, word lists, exercises, and much more. By the way, this resource is included within the Premium Membership. If you aren’t yet a member, the SRP is just one reason to consider it.

Next on the list is a gift that serves teachers and students equally well: a download of IEW’s Mini Posters. These colorful, popular charts can be posted on classroom or homeschool walls for a convenient visual reference. Featuring models for all nine units and examples of the stylistic techniques, the posters help students structure their papers and dress up their writing. A PDF download of these posters is also included in the Premium Membership.

Another gift presented on Day 5 is an introduction to Teaching Tips with Andrew Pudewa (TTAP) videos. In the TTAP videos, which are included as part of the Premium Membership, Andrew provides commentary about his instruction presented in the Structure and Style for Students courses, pointing out key instructional techniques applicable to almost any classroom situation. You can check out a sample of the Structure and Style for Students courses by visiting IEW.com/free-writing. As we often point out at IEW, imitation is key to learning, even for teachers!

Finally, teachers relaxing over Christmas break can enjoy Andrew Pudewa’s video presentation However Imperfectly. As Andrew reflects on his thirty years of teaching, he energizes and encourages his listeners to train their students to become confident and competent communicators and thinkers!
