The IEW Schools Registry Has Been Updated!

The IEW Schools Registry is a resource for parents and teachers looking for schools that implement the IEW methodology and curriculum in their classrooms through accredited IEW instructors. A well-trained IEW teacher preserves the fidelity of the IEW teaching methodology to successfully help students become confident and competent communicators and thinkers.

In increasing numbers, schools are choosing IEW’s Structure and Style® method to improve writing instruction in their classrooms. Schools benefit from being included on the IEW Schools Registry because parents can find schools that use IEW’s methods and materials with consistency. Each year they qualify, IEW Registered Schools receive a dated digital badge to place on their websites and in print publications.

The listed schools employ teachers who are currently accredited IEW instructors. They have completed the Teaching Writing: Structure and Style seminar and practicums, demonstrating a thorough understanding of the Structure and Style method. To maintain IEW accreditation, teachers must complete renewal requirements every two years.

The schools on the registry are listed by state. A handy search function allows parents to search by school name, city, state, and grade level. They can even search for teachers who specialize with learning differences or English Language Learners. For each school listed on this registry, you will find the accredited IEW teacher(s) affiliated with the school.

If your school is not listed on the registry, encourage your teachers to apply for IEW Accreditation. The Accreditation FAQ page answers questions about the tiers and requirements to become an accredited IEW instructor. Additionally, the page provides links to a podcast and a blog post that explain the process and benefits of being an accredited IEW instructor. Teachers who wish to complete the accreditation process have two options for completing the Teaching Writing: Structure and Style teacher training seminar. They can purchase Teaching Writing: Structure and Style and complete the seminar and practicums on their own. For those who choose the Virtual Teaching Writing: Structure and Style workshop, IEW Implementation Coach Jeff Nease will guide participants through the Teaching Writing: Structure and Style seminar and facilitate the related practicum assignments.
