IEW Tools for the Journey: Social Media

Aug 22, 2024 | Posted by the IEW Blog Team

As part of IEW’s continued commitment to providing parents and teachers with help for the journey of training students to be confident and competent communicators and thinkers, we are presenting a series of blog posts highlighting ten free tools we offer. In the first two installments, we looked at IEW newsletters and webinars. This is the third installment of that series: social media. You can find IEW on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and YouTube.

Facebook is one of the oldest and most popular social media outlets. IEW maintains an active page with not only product information but also fun facts, jokes, and word games. The page is monitored by IEW staff, so feel free to ask questions there. Facebook’s groups feature makes it easy to collaborate with others to discuss specific topics. Although there are other unofficial groups, there are two official IEW groups: Institute for Excellence in Writing (IEW) Curriculum (official) and Homeschool Help from IEW. Both of these groups are active with many posts a day. They are monitored by IEW staff to ensure that accurate information is provided. You can find IEW on Facebook by signing into your account and searching for us.

Instagram and Pinterest are both image-based social media outlets. Similar to Facebook, you can follow IEW and find information on products, upcoming events, and fun features such as fill-in-the-blank sentences to highlight a particular dress-up, quotations from literature, and definitions of unusual words. I sometimes use these fun images as warm-ups in my classroom. If you prefer visuals, these are the social media sites for you.

Finally, IEW’s YouTube channel has a wealth of information. Here you will find videos of varying lengths on a variety of topics. There are unboxing videos for products, playlists for teachers and administrators, some of Andrew Pudewa’s most popular convention talks, and more. YouTube is a great way to get to know IEW.

Our presence on these social media platforms is one of the ways we provide you with support for the journey, and it is an honor to do so. Stay tuned for the next tool coming soon!
