With the hope of offering support and resources to new and current homeschooling families, Andrew and Julie dedicate every ten episodes to the Homeschool 101 series. For this special edition of the series, the duo welcome Dr. Lisa Dunne. Dr. Dunne is a homeschool mom, author, and founder of Chula Vista Christian University (CVCU).

In podcast Episode 335 Dr. Lisa discusses her vision of education reform. Her organization partners with local churches across the country to establish homeschool academies. CVCU’s mission statement is “Through intentional mentorship, rigorous reading, and career-driven internships, CVCU will equip scholars and visionaries who will advance the Kingdom, strengthen the community, and lead with excellence in the home, the church, and the marketplace.” The university’s intention is to form academies that provide a place for families and local communities to pursue discourse-based and relational-driven learning.

A major part of Dr. Dunne’s mission is to connect parents with the education of their children.

With that goal in mind, Dr. Dunne recently released her new book Outsourced: Why America’s Kids Need an Education Revolution. Andrew had the pleasure of writing the Foreword of the book.

Outsourced provides powerful insight into the great need for parental involvement in education as modeled in her organization's academies.

By tuning in, you’ll learn about the efficacy of home education and receive a preview of Dr. Dunne’s new book. You won’t want to miss this informative and thought provoking episode!
