On Day 2 of IEW’s Twelve Days of Christmas Giving, we spotlight getting started with writing using IEW’s video courses. The gifts for Day 2 focus on IEW’s two flagship writing courses, created to prepare both instructors and students to accomplish that mission. The first of today’s gifts is What Are We Really Doing Here? a brand new video recording of a timeless talk by Andrew Pudewa. As Andrew has shared this approach with parents and teachers nationwide, it has become clear this is more than a writing curriculum. It is about equipping young people with the tools and confidence to think critically and engage boldly in the war of ideas through powerful communication.
Next is an introduction to the student writing video courses Structure and Style® for Students (SSS). These are taught by Andrew Pudewa using the Structure and Style writing method. The SSS curriculum provides clear daily assignments and includes vocabulary words, grammar and literature suggestions, and lesson plans.
The Day 2 gifts include an opportunity to take a closer look at the lessons or try them with your students with the first three weeks’ video lessons and downloadable teacher and student handouts for Year 1 at the level(s) of your choice. When you request the lessons, you will also be able to access the Structure and Style Overview video, a two-hour introduction to the Teaching Writing: Structure and Style (TWSS) seminar.
