Getting Started with Accreditation

Dec 31, 2023 | Posted by the IEW Blog Team

On Day 6 of IEW’s Twelve Days of Christmas Giving, we offer several key gifts that will help you toward your goals of completing the Teaching Writing: Structure and Style course and submitting practicum assignments for accreditation. Be sure you are registered for the event to receive the email with links to the gifts and the free shipping code.

The first gift is a code that will cover the $50 fee for accreditation at the Registered Instructor level! The second gift is the PDF download of the Student Resource Packet. Lastly, you can listen to the Arts of Language podcast episode “Spotlight on IEW’s Schools Division (Episode 387), where Sharyn Staggers, Schools Division Director, explains step by step how classroom teachers become accredited and how schools can be added to the IEW Schools Registry.

The Teaching Writing: Structure and Style (TWSS) course started it all! This teacher training course is our flagship product, demonstrating our methods for parents and teachers so that they can feel confident to lead their students through our materials or create their own writing lessons across their curriculum. Parents make a worthwhile investment when using IEW materials, and many give testimony to the value found in completing this course. Sharyn Staggers explains that it is especially “crucial [for teachers] to learn our methodology through watching the TWSS2 videos and completing the practicum assignments.”

Included in the Teaching Writing: Structure and Style are practicum assignments for each unit. As they learn the different IEW Units, parents and teachers have the opportunity to practice the new methods, writing their own key word outlines and cleverly inserting the needed style elements. Your students will know that you have walked in their shoes, so to speak, and truly understand what you are asking them to do. Once you have completed the TWSS practicum assignments, submit them to become an IEW Registered Instructor. Read about how this accreditation process will impact your journey as a parent, teacher, or tutor in this blog post “IEW Accreditation: The Secret Key to Success.”

We hope that this trio of gifts motivates you to start the accreditation process. Also note that each summer we kick off The Great TWSS Adventure, where customers join together to work through the TWSS with Mr. Pudewa by beginning each week with a Facebook Live event. The page for the 2023 Great TWSS Adventure will encourage you to check back with us in 2024.
