In the latest podcast, Episode 213, Robert Bortins, chief executive officer for Classical Conversations (CC), joined Andrew Pudewa and Julie Walker in the studio. Bortins was there to share some exciting news: Classical Conversations has partnered with Southeastern University to offer a Master of Classical Arts degree to homeschooling parents within the CC community.

Classical Conversations, started by Leigh Bortins in 1997, is a homeschooling program offered in more than forty countries and has more than 125,000 students presently enrolled. The company and IEW have enjoyed a long and successful partnership, and we are very excited for parents who might be able to take advantage of this opportunity.

Offered at a fraction of the typical cost, the master’s program will provide a way for homeschooling parents who currently have a bachelor’s degree to earn their master’s (conditions apply). It is a great opportunity for parents to continue their education and could open doors to career opportunities.

Plans include concentrations in English, math, science, philosophy, history, language, and education, and the first two courses will be offered beginning in the fall of 2020. While the first course, entitled Christian Educational Leadership, is central to all of the concentrations, the second course is specifically tailored to the English concentration and focuses on rhetoric.
