In the second episode of a 4-part podcast series highlighting Andrew’s article, “The 4 Deadly Errors of Teaching Writing,” Andrew Pudewa and Julie Walker discuss how withholding help negatively impacts a student’s progress. Many parents and teachers believe it is possible to help students too much. They worry that if help is given, it makes it difficult or practically impossible to fairly evaluate student work. Andrew Pudewa dispels this fear during podcast Episode 212, using a real-life example taken from his own teaching experience.

This experience involved a class he was teaching to young students. There were several teachers who were observing his instruction. Unable to figure out what to write, one of the students needed some extra assistance from Andrew. To hear how Andrew handled that situation, listen to the podcast. Instruction should never be a sink or swim proposition. This podcast explains why it is important to help your students. Be sure to check it out.
