10:00 AM CT: Cultivating Language Arts: Preschool through High School
Listening and reading well, speaking and writing clearly, thinking and debating effectively are abilities that most parents and teachers hope to cultivate in their students. With that goal in mind, Andrew Pudewa will explore various environments and activities which will accelerate the development of these language skills, beginning with the youngest students and continuing into the high school years.
11:30 AM CT: IEW’s Structure and Style: What is it all about?
In this workshop, Andrew Pudewa and Julie Walker will guide you through four possible ways to teach your students with Structure and Style. Whether you decide to create your own lessons, use a theme-based book, watch a video course with your student, or watch the new Structure and Style for Students and then live-teach the lessons yourself, this workshop presents recommendations for the tools you need to implement Structure and Style.
1:00 PM CT: Introductory Student Workshop
Join Andrew Pudewa and a classroom of students for a live-streamed writing workshop! Students around the globe can log in and enjoy learning right along with the students in the studio. The workshop is geared towards students who haven’t had IEW experience. Teachers will also enjoy watching Andrew present the material, and will glean ideas to implement in their own classroom (recommended for students with a third-grade or higher reading level).
3:30 PM CT: Advanced Student Workshop
If your student has already experienced learning to write using IEW’s Structure and Style, then this advanced writing workshop will be especially enjoyable for them! Join a classroom of students for this live-streamed session that will expand your students’ knowledge and writing skills. (Any student may attend this workshop online; however, this session assumes some knowledge of creating key word outlines and implementing stylistic techniques.)
Sessions will be live streamed on YouTube.
