Tamara’s passion is teaching. Specializing in English Language Arts, she believes that learning how to read, write, and speak well creates independent and careful thinkers. Currently, Tamara teaches ages 4-19 at a professional tutoring center in North Carolina. Although she also teaches elementary subjects, she particularly enjoys instructing middle school and high school-level ELA. With certifications to teach ACT/SAT sections in English, Reading, and Writing, she instructs in grammar, eloquence, and conceptual learning in literature for test takers who aim for higher scores and entry into exceptional colleges. Her latest Test Prep student gained 10 points on the ACT in Reading, with a beginning score of 23 and a most recent score of 33. Tamara graduated Magna Cum Laude with a 3.9 GPA from the University of North Carolina in Charlotte. During her time at the university, she received various accolades and worked for her professors as a tutor for her peers in test-taking and writing.
