Stephanie Starr
Hello! I'm Stephanie, and I love teaching writing, reading, history, grammar, and vocabulary.
I homeschooled my four children from kindergarten through 12th grade. Since then, I have tutored and taught extensively. I have found IEW to be the best way to teach writing structure, and I love seeing how students improve and soar with this curriculum.
I teach live classes at Thrive Preparatory Academy in Lewisville, TX. I tutor reading and writing online, and we can set up a time that works for both of us. I am also happy to work with small groups online to do a full year of IEW. We can work at a standard pace, an accelerated pace, or at a slower pace—whatever the student needs.
I hold a Master of Humanities with a concentration in Classical Education from the University of Dallas and a BA in English Literature from Southern Methodist University. I am also trained in the Orton-Gillingham method of teaching reading and phonics.
