Mary Odell
Mrs. Odell graduated from Montana State University with a B.A. in French Language and Literature. This choice of major resulted in spending one year of post-graduate study in France and then returning to the states for graduate school. She received an M.A. in Journalism from the University of Maryland. Prior to homeschooling, Mary worked as an editor and technical writer for NASA and The National Eye Institute, and performed contract work for Microsoft.
The 2024–2025 school year will be her 19th year teaching writing classes. She has used the Structure and Style method for all of those years and has been an accredited IEW instructor since 2009. She homeschooled her own three children from 2004–2016, all of whom are now college graduates.
