Marci Harris
Having taught IEW writing to my own kids, co-ops, online, and private tutored, I have nearly 20 years’ experience grading/marking IEW papers. I also have edited papers for college application essays, scholarship essays, speeches, other high school classes, and college classes. Besides teaching IEW Online classes, I grade essays, research papers, and IEW assignments.
For 2024-2025 I am offering an asynchrous essay writing class. This full-year class will teach six different essays: personal, narrative, definition, expository, argumentative, and a formal critique. Students will submit assignments via our Google Classroom. Detailed feedback is provided on each assignment so that students have the opportunity to grow and edit their work. Prior IEW experience is not necessary but will be useful. This is an asynchronous class, so there is no live lecture. Students complete assignments on their own schedule.
Homeschooling parents are busy! Sometimes having someone else provide feedback on your student’s work is helpful. I can provide feedback on an occasional paper, or I can contract for each semester of an IEW course. My comments include feedback on the structure of the assignment, the style required, and grammar. This provides the best of both worlds. You control the pace of assignments. I provide feedback as papers are submitted through IEW Gradebook, which allows both the student and the parent to submit assignments and view feedback. I am an IEW Certified Instructor with nearly 20 years of IEW teaching experience. See more at WritingResourceCoach.com.
