Darleen Armstrong
Darleen Armstrong holds a B.S. degree in Physical Therapy with a minor in Biology from Daemen College in upstate New York. When her oldest child was born, she chose to leave the field of physical therapy and homeschool her children from birth through high school. Throughout her homeschool journey, Mrs. Armstrong has been an active leader and participant in multiple children’s ministries, including developing a Wednesday night children’s program for elementary school children, teaching Sunday school for elementary and middle school students, co-leading a high school girls’ Bible study, and leading AWANA groups of all ages. Additionally, since 2019, she has been actively involved as the props lead for many children’s community theater shows. Since 2013, Mrs. Armstrong has successfully used the IEW curriculum with all three of her children and has seen the benefits and simplicity of the program first-hand. Using the techniques from IEW, she has helped guide multiple students with their writing assignments; this includes elementary, high school, and college papers and college admissions essays. Beginning in 2023, she has been an Essentials class tutor at her Classical Conversations homeschool community and is excited to share this program and the benefits of effective writing with others as a private tutor.
