Bridget Henne
I am a Level 2 certified teacher in Pennsylvania, but currently reside in Lexington, KY, near Georgetown. In addition to 14 years of classroom experience in upper elementary classrooms, I have tutored students in various settings for over 10 years. In the past 4 years, I have taught English and History courses for upper elementary homeschool students, as well as English for middle- and high school students. In 2022, along with some amazing homeschool moms and teachers, I began a very successful homeschool hybrid program, before moving due to my husband's job. Over the years, I have found that children are going to learn at their own pace and in their own ways, and it's my job as an educator to find what works for each student.
During the school year 2023-24, I taught IEW (Fables, Myths, and Fairy Tales) to several students, both in a 1:1 and classroom setting, over Zoom. This year, I'm teaching multiple classes online, as well, using the U.S History theme book.
On a more personal note, I'm a mom of two grown sons and have been married to their dad for more than 25 years. We're a proud military family, which includes my husband (Army National Guard) and my younger son (Marine Corps). My older son is in college, using IEW practices to maintain his 4.0 GPA, despite learning differences. I'm also the mom and the safe-place-during-thunder lady to two large, sweet dogs.
