After completing a BS in Speech Language Pathology & Audiology at The Pennsylvania State University, April began working in the Virginia Public School System teaching students with communication disorders. She later completed her MS in education with Old Dominion University, specializing in Special Education. During her 10+ years teaching in public schools, April worked with children of all ages and with a variety of disabilities and learning challenges. She also served as the Educational Diagnostician and the Technology Lead Teacher. In 2006 April took a break from teaching to start her family and subsequently decided to stay home with her children. She is now a proud home educator while she continues to teach both homeschool and public school students virtually and in person.
