IEW Instructor

Welcome to my corner of IEW and teaching online!  I am thrilled to have the chance to work with you. 

As you can see, I am a Trained Instructor with the Institute for Excellence in Writing (IEW), but I also hold valid K-8 teaching credentials in both Idaho and California in addition to a Master's degree in Education.

Throughout my teaching career, I have taught elementary and middle school classes in the public school system, science and writing enrichment classes for homeschool students, GED English and math classes, English as a Second Language for adults, and technology classes.  

On a personal note, I have many years of experience homeschooling my own children before they went off to public school, so I understand what it means to be a "homeschool parent".  I strive to ensure your children are gaining the education I would seek for my own children.

Outside of teaching, I am an avid reader, and I love to spend time camping, hiking, sewing, and experimenting with photography.

What I Offer:

I provide 30 minute Zoom tutoring sessions. I ask that you please send me the paper a day in advance so I have a chance to review it prior to our meeting.

During our meeting, I work with students on editing, assist with dress-ups, and answer any questions about the assignment.

Please note that I do not grade the papers. Students and families can use the checklist at the end of the lesson to ensure all requirements have been met. 

I charge $30 for 30 minutes, with payment accepted before our scheduled meeting time.
