Announcing IEW’s Theme-Based Book of the Year: Ancient History-Based Writing Lessons

Sep 03, 2021 | Posted by the IEW Blog Team

We are excited to share with you that we have declared Ancient History-Based Writing Lessons to be IEW’s theme-based book of the year. What does this mean for you? Every month Andrew Pudewa will present a webinar that introduces IEW’s units by exploring the first lesson of each structural unit in this theme-based book. During the webinar he will work through the lesson with attendees, helping them to feel more confident about presenting it to their own students. At each hour-long webinar there will be plenty of instruction and encouragement as well as a drawing for a $100 IEW gift certificate.

In August Andrew presented the first webinar, covering Units 1 and 2. If you missed it, don’t worry. You can view the recording at this link. The next webinar is scheduled for September 13 at 7:30 PM CST and will be addressing Unit 3. Registration is free. Unit 3: Retelling Narrative Stories teaches students how to pull out key ideas from a narrative piece using the Story Sequence Chart and then retell the story in a three-paragraph format. Andrew will examine this unit by working through Lesson 5’s source text, “The Wind and the Sun.”

We would love to have you participate in this great series of webinars. If you would like to receive a special reminder email, sign up for the list here.
