Sydney Gonçalves is the founder of Rose Writing Center. While pursuing her bachelor’s degree at Emory University, Sydney served as a writing tutor in the Emory Writing Center, where she received rigorous training in the teaching of writing and provided instruction and feedback to university students across a wide range of writing assignments.
Sydney is an accredited instructor through the Institute for Excellence in Writing and has taught students in elementary, middle, and high school using the IEW Structure and Style methodology. She founded Rose Writing Center to help students develop the clear thinking, strong structure, and confident expression they need to write well across subjects.
Sydney is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Humanities with a concentration in Jewish Classical Education at the University of Dallas. Her graduate studies deepen her work as an educator through the study of classical literature, philosophy, educational theory, and the broader tradition of liberal learning.
Sydney grew up in Westchester County, New York, and graduated from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School with a concentration in Information Systems & Operations Management and a double major in Philosophy. After graduating, she first moved to New York City and then to Portugal, where she met her husband. In her spare time, Sydney enjoys playing golf and reading book after book beside her cat.
