Rachel Bloom
BA in English from Purdue University
Hello! Currently I offer online and in person tutoring sessions to assist with IEW, Essentials/Classical Conversations weekly work, and Orton-Gillingham based reading/spelling. We can customize our sessions according to your student's needs.
My teaching background consists of 8 years of teaching in a variety of settings, including Essentials with Classical Conversations, online ESL tutoring, and 4th grade ELA at a local Christian school. Currently I work as a Reading Specialist, using the Orton-Gillingham method. My goal is to help students engage in the material, whatever the topic!
Ever since I was little I loved to write, which led me to get a bachelor’s degree in English from Purdue University. After college I wrote “happy news” for the Post-Tribune, a newspaper outside of Chicago, which was a ton of fun. I went on to raise and homeschool 5 incredible kids. It's been a great time!
