I love working with students and helping them grow into confident, capable writers.
My journey with writing and grammar began while attending Classical Conversations Essentials classes with my older children. During that time, I was introduced to the Institute for Excellence in Writing (IEW) Structure and Style method, and it just clicked. It gave me a clear, practical way to teach writing that felt both manageable and effective for students.
After spending several years learning from wonderful tutors, I stepped into the role of tutor myself for my younger children and quickly realized how much I loved teaching. I haven’t looked back since.
I hold a degree in elementary education and have spent over 20 years teaching in a variety of settings, including traditional classrooms and one-on-one instruction. Today, I teach IEW-based writing classes, Fix It! Grammar, and lead both Pathways Writing and Junior High Journey programs.
I truly believe every student can become a strong writer with practice and the right tools. It’s a joy to come alongside students and help them build confidence, develop skills, and experience success in their writing.
