Cynthia Cox

Cynthia Cox earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics with a minor in Computer Science and Music (piano, vocal) from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She programmed for AT&T Technologies - Federal Systems prior to birthing her two children. Cynthia began home schooling her children in 2006 when her children were 3rd & 6th grade. She and her family joined the Greensboro, North Carolina, Classical Conversations group where Cynthia tutored 4th grade in Foundations. In 2008 Cynthia birthed a Classical Conversations group in the Burlington, North Carolina, area. She directed Foundations, Essentials, Challenge B, Challenge 1, and Challenge 2 over the next six years. Being in Classical Conversations, she and her children were introduced to the Institute for Excellence in Writing (IEW). Cynthia fell in love with this process of writing, leading her to work conventions for IEW from 2011 until 2018 and 2021 - 2023. In 2014 Cynthia completed the Teaching with Structure and Style curriculum to earn her Register Tutor with IEW. She maintained this designation until May, 2020, when she earned her Certified Tutor designation with IEW. Cynthia and her husband live in southwest Virginia.
