Here we go again! The Great TWSS Adventure Returns

Apr 21, 2023 | Posted by Evan

It’s that time again to start thinking about how to make the next school year even better than the last. Did dress-ups cause any dilemmas? Were your student’s topic-clincher sentences less than terrific? Was there too much pressure to be innovative while writing an insightful Introduction? We’ve got you covered! Join Andrew Pudewa and Evan Smith, Educational Consultant and Accreditation Specialist, for another round of The Great TWSS Adventure this summer. As always, we will guide you through the Teaching Writing: Structure and Style (TWSS) seminar with a particular focus on accomplishing the practicum assignments. Whether you are experiencing them for the first time or you are a seasoned veteran, there is always room to hone your skill set. Remember Ten Thousand Times and Then Begins Understanding! While last year’s key word was fidelity, this year’s key word is mastery. We want you to feel as confident and competent as you possibly can while you instruct your students every step of the way.

We’ll kick things off at noon (Central Time) on June 5 via IEW’s YouTube channel and Facebook Live as we discuss the finer points of Units 1 and 2 and field your live questions. Your only prerequisite is to make sure you own a second edition Seminar Workbook and have access to the second edition Teaching Writing: Structure and Style videos. We will tell you which video to watch and what assignment to work on for the week at the end of each session so that you can accomplish everything when it is most convenient for you. You might also consider hosting a viewing party to watch the TWSS videos with others and have a little more accountability for completing the practicum assignments. If you have a Facebook account, stop by the Facebook event page to say hello and share your insights, comments, and questions with the group. If you do not have a Facebook account, feel free to contact our team or email adventure@IEW.com with any questions for any of our expeditions.
