With all that is happening in the world and across the United States, IEW wanted to do what we could to help in some small way. That’s why today’s post is a bit different. We are hoping that you can take a moment to share this information with any friends, neighbors, and family members who are unsure of what to do with their suddenly now at-home children. If there is any other way we can be helpful to you, please let us know.

_______

Dear Teachers and Parents,

The COVID-19 pandemic is causing a great deal of upheaval and uncertainty in people’s lives. As we all strive to care for each other and navigate through this difficult time, we at IEW hope to help.

In response to the interruption of classroom instruction, we have pulled together some of our best resources to provide you with a free, completely digital, three-week program of English language arts instruction, which you can utilize to allow your students to continue learning while away from their classrooms.

To access these resources and to learn how you can share them with parents and students, click here.

Writing

  • Structure and Style for Students is our new video-based writing program. We are offering the first three lessons for grades 3–12 (Level A: Grades 3–5, Level B: Grades 6-8, Level C: Grades 9–12).
  • Level A can also be used for SPED students.

Grammar

  • Fix It! Grammar is our award-winning grammar program for students in grades 3–12.
  • We are providing the first three weeks of lessons in three different levels.

Vocabulary

  • Both Fix It! Grammar and Structure and Style for Students present vocabulary words embedded within the assignments.
  • In Structure and Style for Students, students are presented with vocabulary words each week. Students can write the definitions for those words in their notebooks.
  • Altogether, as many as eight vocabulary words are taught each week.

While these times are indeed filled with much uncertainty, we hope to help you feel confident that you can continue to meet your students’ needs.

We are here to help.
