Structure and Style for Students Workshops

Units 1 & 2: Introduction to IEW - Level A, (Grades 3-5)
8:30–10:30AM

Students will be taught to create a Key Word Outline—the foundation for all IEW writing—and retell, represent, and dress up that work using various stylistic techniques.

Grade levels are approximate; no previous IEW experience is presumed.

Cost: Introductory Student workshops: $25.00/participant
(Save with the Early Registration price of $25 through October 17, 2019. After this date the regular registration price is $30.)
Teachers and parents may observe at no cost.

Participants: 15 minimum, 25 maximum

11:00AM–1:00PM

Advanced Workshop
Student should have at least a year of IEW experience for this workshop.

Unit 3: Story Writing (Grades 3–8+)
1:30–4:00PM

Students will learn to extract key ideas from a story and organize that information based on the Story Sequence Chart, then apply selected stylistic techniques.

Cost: Introductory Student workshops: $30.00/participant
