Units 1 & 2: Introduction to IEW - Level A, (Grades 3-5)
8:30–10:30AM

Students will be taught to create a Key Word Outline—the foundation for all IEW writing—and retell, represent, and dress up that work using various stylistic techniques.

Grade levels are approximate; no previous IEW experience is presumed.

Cost: Introductory Student workshops: $25.00/participant
(Save with the Early Registration price of $25 through February 15, 2017. After this date the regular registration price is $30.)
Teachers and parents may observe at no cost.

Participants: 15 minimum, 25 maximum


Units 1 & 2: Introduction to IEW - Level B, (Grades 6–8+)
11:00AM–1:00PM

Advanced Workshop
Student should have some IEW experience or have completed one of the Introduction to IEW classes offered earlier in the day.

Unit 4 & 6: Research Writing (Grades 5–10)
1:30–4:00PM

Students will learn the skill of choosing limited facts from multiple references; fusing their outlines, and applying selected stylistic techniques.

Cost: Introductory Student workshops: $30.00/participant
(Save with the Early Registration price of $30 through February 15, 2017. After this date the regular registration price is $35.)
Teachers and parents may observe at no cost.

Participants: 15 minimum, 30 maximum
