Teacher Guide to Free Language Arts Lessons from IEW

IEW offers some of our award-winning courses to provide three weeks of language arts lessons for you and your students to enjoy.

Writing (grades 3–12)

Students learn how to create a key word outline, an important basic skill to build upon. Stylistic techniques are also introduced. Instruction is delivered via streaming videos with accompanying PDF downloads for the student and the teacher.

Grammar (grades 3–12)

Utilizing IEW’s Fix-It! Grammar, students hunt for and correct errors in daily passages that cumulatively tell a story. Fix It! Grammar encourages students to immediately apply new grammar knowledge in context, aiding in the transfer of grammar skills into their own writing.

Vocabulary (grades 3–12)

Vocabulary words are included in both the writing and grammar courses, expanding students’ repertoire of word choices to use when writing.

How can teachers use these lessons?

  1. Recommend them to parents to use over the summer.
  2. Utilize them to get a fast start to your fall teaching. These lessons will energize your students and inspire them to write. You can apply the skills learned in the first three lessons to whatever writing assignments you require.
